U.S. Disaster Relief Programs

We have to address the stress and loss of confidence people have experienced as result of disasters. Unless the trauma is released, attending to the material needs will not be sufficient. -H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

The Art of Living Foundation and the International Association for Human Values were amongst the first non-profit organizations to reach Hurricane Katrina affected areas in New Orleans and today are still active with the following efforts:
  • Trauma & stress relief programs
  • Fun, safe, healing programs for kids in museums, YMCAs and housing projects
  • School development support through community-driven curriculum
  • Helping fellow service providers avoid burn-out through innovative stress relief programs

AOLF and IAHV have vibrant partnerships with many local organizations and agencies, including Habitat for Humanity, AmeriCorps, Mercy Corps, YMCA, Louisiana Children's Museum , Xavier University , the I Have a Dream School Youth Forum and Acorn.
